All of a sudden my Acer Iconia One 10 won't shut off or on. It just flashes the start up screen "Acer explore beyond limits; powered by Android"

What do I do?

Problem with the cord/charging unit... plug is extremely loose and has been since I bought it. It takes an extraordinary amount of time to charge it. Is it defective?

Based on the description of the power connection you either have an issue with the power socket (perhaps bent ut of shape enough to cause the loose fit) or the charger (intermittant connection internally, incorrect power output or just plain the wrong one). If I were in your position I'd take it back and get one without the charging issues. You can send it through Acer support and they'll fix it for you, but back to the seller will be faster.

if you are still under warranty, call Acer support service.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

I left it last night and all day today while at work. The battery was at 3% when I got home this evening however, the tablet had finally shut off.  I started it and it seems to be working fine now.......go figure.

Should I see what happens or should I take it in for service. I only bought it 3 weeks ago.

I appreciate the input. I am going to go back to the store but was hoping for some miracle answer to avoid the trip! Thank you both for the answers
