It is helpful to let the community know the following:

What computer do you have with Windows 8?

What specifically is being asked?  I'm not understanding from the information provided.

We would highly recommend making a backup on a USB stick.

The recovery information IS on those partitions and is available.  However, if something were to happen to one of the partitions, or to the hard drive, then they may not be accessable and you would be in need of the USB recovery option.

RAM is the easiest upgrade.  Other changes to hardware are not supported.

We do not make third party hardware or software recommendations.

Applications and software are a personal choice.  One persons needs and wants do not reflect every persons.

    V5-471P

The video card is not upgradable.  There is no space to add or replace the built-in card.

There is only one hard drive bay.  An additional drive would not be supported.
