W700 Bluetooth problem W700

Bought this W700 new on 1/30/2013. Then after 6 days I turned it on and the wifi and the Bluetooth were no longer working. Using the built in trouble shooter for the wifi, I was able to get it turned back on but do not know if it was working to its full potential. Then discovered that the Bluetooth would not turn on at all. Windows could not turn it on in the device manager and the Acer utility could not turn it on. Therefore the provided keyboard or a Bluetooth mouse would not work. On this model which can actually be used for processing full documents the loss of the keyboard is intolerable. The Bluetooth on a tablet of this size and power should be transparent and the fact that it shut off in between starts tells me it is unreliable at best. I do not know if I could trust it again.

I had read on these forums that there were some problems in this wifi and Bluetooth area, but as soon as I started the machine for the first time the Acer update utility updated the wifi driver to the very newest and I though everything was working fine until the Bluetooth just died. By the way no viruses or anything of that kind as I scanned for that.

All right you can get a bad one sometimes but I have found that initial problems like this do not bode well for the future. Even if there were a fix, I would have to wonder when it would happen next and how would I fix it if it was needed. Plan to return for a refund and get something more reliable. Shame, I really liked it when it worked.

I initially had random bluetooth problems but went to device manager and deleted all of the bluetooth stuff then restarted. I  believe its the bluetooth 214 drivers from microsoft that are rock solid.

As indicated I had downloaded and installed the latest driver from Acer 10.0.0.218 and installed the first day I had the tablet. It worked fine for 5 days and then just died. This indicates to me that there is a hardware problem and not a software problem - probably a faulty bluetooth adapter. A tablet's bluetooth and wireless should be transparent and simply work these are the essence of what a tablet is. At this price point I expect a functioning product not one I have to tinker with to get it to work or that is unreliable.

Try removing all Bluetooth driver from Device Manager, then uninstall the Atheros driver (recommended to uninstall with Revo Uninstaller), then restart the device.
After the restart, open Task Manager, tap Startup tab, and disable BtPreLoad, then restart again.
now, install the new Bluetooth driver.
