Gateway SX2801-01e doesn't recognized 4TB hard drive. Only sees 1.67TB
Bios is P01-B2 (3/24/2010). PC is Gateway SX2801-01e Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
I tried installing a 4TB drive but it won't recognize more than 2TB. Is there a bios upgrade I can do to allow larger hard drives?
I found this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2581408
But I believe it should be already using GPT partitioning.

if you check, probably is NTFS formatted.
use windows disk management to check it, delete the 2 TB partition and format it selecting GPT.
by the way the total recognised storage, depends on mainboard chipset too.

You have to partition it before you can format it and it only sees 1.67TB available to partition

It's not resolved. I ended up taking it back and exchanging for a 2TB. I would really like a 4TB but I guess it's not possible with this machine.
