In order to make a full installation of Android (as opposed to using Bluestacks on a bare Win install) you need to find either a way to remove the UEFI or find an Android distro with a Microsoft signature (Ubuntu ?). And then you will need to find drivers for things like touch, wireless, and the SD card reader.

I have not tried on my W3 (am happy with Win 10 - 10586 fixed a number of things) but maybe you should ask on one of the Android tablet forums.

that's why I was asking for help.  I'm ok with the drivers, most of the time the generic drivers will work, but I'm hoping that there's a bios out there somewhere that someone used to get what I want done.

Have you tried this ? An Android distro with UEFI support but sounds like you need a Linux Machine to create.

You could boot android 5.1 on uefi devices whether live or install in a partition. There are instructions on youtube. Try them. I tried on my acer w510 uefi but no use Smiley LOL it seems nothing other than windows will work on Z2760 devices Smiley LOL .......lol

It is a matter of what signatures are in the library. I suspect only Acer and Microsoft. You may be able to turn off Secure Boot in the BIOS but I have not tried that.

It is not the Z2760 but rather the UEFI BIOS that prevents other booting.

It seems that there is no issue in installing or live booting andriod in windows tablets which are having baytrail. They just have to disable secureboot from bios. I have already disabled secureboot abut still no use. And i dont see any windows device with clovertrail able to run android Smiley Happy... When ever we asks in any forum, they just says Z2760 doesnt support booting android even if that android version supports uefi booting...

Thank you. Will give it a try. My only concern is that the Clover (and Bay) trail devices are ventless and rely on thermal management drivers from Intel to stay cool. (e.g. W510, W3, W4, and some Switch & R3 models- may have missed some). Last I looked these do not exist for Android/Linux.

ps documentation I've seen is that EFI is only for 64 bit machines. As far as I know all the W models are 32 bit (only one memory channel).

pps think the tab in the video is a W4-810.

Yes the tab is w4-810. I think its too 32bit uefi. Also other win 8 tablets by other companies which is 32bit uefi are able to boot android. By the way let us know if you are able to boot android in your w3. Smiley Happy

OK here's what happened: I used rufus to install the .iso was not recognized tried to force the GPT. Also failed. Used Rufus for the UEFI image (.img). DD and GPT: recognised and booted but hung after the first tiny lines displayed as in video.

I suspect the Vdeo used a W4 which has a 64 bit capable Atom Z3740 CPU and the 64 bit Android image.

Unless a 32 bit UEFI image is released it may be difficult to load on a Clover Trail device.

I have not yet tried disabling all UEFI functions on the W3, I am not certain it can be done but in that case the 32 bit should load

Just a bit more, I found that to be bootable Rufus must use GPT & DD. So far I have only gotten to the boot selection and the Android selections run for a few seconds then lock with a white dot on the upper left side of the screen. Only the Windows choice works. I have a Bay Trail tab I'll try tomorrow.

I am just concened that even if it will boot, it will still not have thermal management drivers. The tabs said to work are not ventless designs.

Yes thats the issue im also having....it shows selection screen and goes to a black screen forever...Smiley LOL

Well it runs fine on my aunchient but 64 bit capable Acer One 532h netbook so apparently something about the W3/z2760 is going into a loop

on my tablet it doesn't stay black forever, it just goes back to the menu after a few seconds.  Apparently there's a gparted which should be used first, and after that, it should run, but if it doesn't boot to android, then I just wiped the tablet.  I'm a littlebit of a coward...

My W3 stayed on the black screen with a white dot in the upper left for over an hour before I stopped it. The LIVE selection should not bother the disk at all (but back everything up first).

I was hoping that Acer would release something since they have other acer tablets that run android, and since they don't update drivers for windows (their website which is garbage has drivers for 8.1 and nothing for 10 yet) that they would provide us a solution.

Have to understand that Acer (like Dell , Toshiba, or HP) is more of a systems integrator and if Intel does not release drivers or abandons the N2760 Clovertrail SOCs then there is not much Acer or even the Androidx86 group) can do.

OTOH the source code is available from the Android group. A tealented programmer could probably find the problem which I suspect is a command the N2760 does not recognise. The problem is finding someone who wants to troubleshoot a somewhat obscure 32 bit platform when most development is for 64 bit platforms (even my 2011 Acer One 532h is 64 bit capable) now that Intel released thermal management drivers for 64 bit ventless designs like my R3-131T-P344).

With a "like new" W4-820 (64GB) available for under $200 . It is hard to justify the effort to port to a W3 unless you really want to.

I tried pretty much every build i found in this website www.android-x86.net (img & rar) and they all gives boot options. But situation is same as said above. Certain build give couple of more boot options which i didnt understand Smiley LOL ... @padgett there is lollipop build 32 bit for baytrail, atom devices in that website, would you mind checking them and find if any works for you?
