Hi,

I have had my Acer V 11 Touch for about 3 months and have started experiencing a touchpad lagging issue where the cursor is delayed. It is becoming very frustrating and begginning to affect work. My touchpad is recognised as a mouse for some reason so cannot adjust any Synaptics/ palmcheck etc options. I have the latest drivers installed. I'm using windows 10. Someone please please help!

Try checking Task Manager and click on Startup tab.  Then disable Realtek HD Audio Manager.  Restart your computer.

Thanks for your help but i've had Realtek HD Audio Manager disabled for a while so i don't think this is the issue. Do you think it would make any difference if i just uninstalled it?

What BIOS version do you have?

    To check BIOS version:

    1. Right click on windows start button

    2. left click on Run

    3. type msinfo32

    4. click ok

Check the Acer Care Center app on your computer to see if they have an updated BIOS.

Also check Acer downloads for BIOS.

If BIOS update doesn't solve it.....this is what I would do.

    1.  Backup my important personal files.

    2. Reset computer to factory settings/condition.

    3.  Only use Acer Care Center to get your drivers (don't get drivers from Acer download website) and install them in the exact order that they appear in Acer Care Center (from top to bottom)

    4. Optional step:  Go in to BIOS settings and load BIOS defaults (F9) and then save/exit (F10).

If that doesn't fixit, I would call Acer support.

    Hi again Ace JordanB,

The late reply is due to work. I followed your advice and am now at the stage where i can see 2 Bios updates for my system. My version is 1.10 and the website shows a 1.13 and 1.16 update but have 2 different descriptions so unsure of which one to select?

Thanks for your help once again

Are you using the Acer Care Center app on your device?  You might have to use the "search" feature on your device to locate Acer Care Center.

Which V11 touch do you have?  There's several different models.  What CPU do you have?

So when I look at Acer downloads for your computer model, it looks like there is not only a synaptics firmware update, but also a BIOS update available.

    Try those two updates.

    1.  Update your BIOS to 1.16

    2.  After you successfully update your BIOS to 1.16, then update the Synaptics firmware to 1.17

If you have trouble, please contact Acer Support.

I have a HID-compliant touch pad, could this have anything to do with it?

I'm sorry, I'm out of ideas.  I would call Acer Support especially since you're under warranty.
