HDMI direct to GPU?

Hey all. Thinking of buying the g9-791-78ce. That's with the 980m. Was wondering if this had the hdmi direct to gpu or if it goes through the Intel chipset first? Mainly want to know if it would support oculus. Thanks.

HDMI goes through the intel connection but the DisplayPort is direct to nVidia.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi MrTechit,

I would be careful with any laptop and expecting it to run VR equipment. While the Predator 17 has the CPU and other requirements, I'm honestly not sure that the 980m is going to provide the performance needed for VR.

Users on the Oculus reddit seem to agree. https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/wiki/requirements

I think it might work, but i'm afraid it might not work as well as you'd want it to and I'd hate for you to be a bad position if VR is what you're after. My understanding is that even slightly sub par performance can increase dizzyness and nausea with VR due to latency and catchup required to render the 3d environments.

    Hope this helps,
