For sure it's a mystery!  Trust me, you're not stepping on my toes.  Smiley Happy

    Jordan,

Derkem and I weren't the only ones having this problem with that certain model of Qualcomm Atheros WiFi/Bluetooth Card.  I did a Search when I was having the trouble and found it was a very common problem after the Windows 10 Upgrade.  Some Replaced the Card with an Intel WiFi/Bluetooth Card instead of sticking with Qualcomm Atheros like I did!  After the First, I ended up ordering the same model of card that worked for the second laptop!  I couldn't see paying $15-$30 for an Intel Card on Ebay when I could pick up the Qualcomm Atheros for $2.80 shipped!  Think I got the second one for $2.71 shipped from the same vendor!

Wish I could remember where on the internet I found out about this being a problem.  It may have been here at the Acer Community, I just can't remember?  I'm betting it was here at the Acer Community, because people were outraged Acer was still using the same card they knew people were have problems with!

    Jordan,

I did find the post I was talking about.  It was the Same WiFi Card I had problems with, just on the Acer V15 Nitro Laptops and not my model laptop.  I made a mistake, I thought my problem started when I upgraded to Windows 10, I was wrong!  According to my post there, I started having my problems after upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.  It was all like a Blur, I purchased the Laptops one at a time.  I set them up with Windows 8, then fully Upgraded so I could upgrade to Windows 8.1.  Next I upgraded both to Windows 10 after it's release!  Some reason I thought it was Windows 10 and not Windows 8.1 when I had the problem.  Anyway, here is the link if you're interested in reading: V15 Nitro WiFi Problems

    bugspop1,

Sorry about that, I should have explained better.  I think your suggestion to replace the wireless module is an excellent suggestion and one I would probably do myself since they are inexpensive.....and not spend a lot of time troubleshooting (unless I really wanted to solve the mystery).

I was just trying to give him the some easy, due diligence, troubleshooting steps that I personally would take before I opened the case.  There is some inherent risk involved when opening a laptop and working around the internal electronic components. I always try to avoid if I can.  Even the Pro's who take apart laptops everyday sometimes slip up and cause some damage.  And of course there is some added expense involved if you have to take it somewhere. My neighbor told me that changing a sensor near my truck's catalytic converter was really easy and I should do it myself.  Easy for him.  Not for me.  I paid a shop to do it.  Smiley Wink

I was going to suggest that he check to see if there was a BIOS update too.  But there's also some slight risk there too.

I don't doubt you a bit that your suggestion might be the only and cheapest, and best solution. (yes I've read about some after win10 upgrade).

I would definitely follow your suggestion if after an hour or two of troubleshooting, I couldn't get anywhere.
