No factory reset possible on Jade Z Plus

Hi,

my Jade Z Plus suddenly decided to ask me for a password, but I had never set one, only a pattern. I can get in by locking it remotely with Avast AntiTheft, but I cannot switch back to pattern because it demands the password for that action, too.

I tried to start a factory set from the settings, but it asks for the password, too. So I tried a factory reset by pressing Power+VolumeDown during start, but it brings mit to a menu with chinese/japanese signs and all of them seem to be some kind of hardware check (testing emmc, WLAN, brightness etc.), none of them brings me to a (readable) menu where I can chose the facory reset.

Is there a different key combination to enter the android menu? I also tried pressing Power + VolumeUp but it only vibrates every few seconds but never comes up.

cu,

Frank

That does nothing as long as I keep all of them pressed. When I first press the power button and a second after if both volume + and - I again come  into the strange menu.

    power button + Volume UP

    at the first vibration

leave Volume Up  and power button and press Volume down

    select recovery

then on next screen, that looks empty, press power button again
