My Acer laptop freezes while searching for a wi-fi signal

Hi

I´m a novice to the IT terminology but in a nutshell my Acer laptop just froze while I was trying to connect to a wi-fi I had been using for almost a year. I assumed it was the wi-fi so I tried connecting to a land line internet cable internet but it´s the same problem. I cannot switch it off properly. It literally does not nothing. No access to the control panel. What should I do as Brazil has the worst service standards in the world. I took it back to the dealer who told me to go to the service centre. I arrived at the service centre where they would not even look at it. They told me I need to go to Sau Paulo which is about 7 hours away from ROI De Janeiro where I am living?? Disappointing seeing as the Brand is international and trusted, but I don´t believe the service in these parts of the world is the same. I bought it 30 March 2012 so it is still in the 1 year time frame. Please help

It is helpful to let the community know the following:

    What computer do you have?
What operating system is on the computer?

Do you have any error messages?

Is the wireless card still visible in Device Manager?

    Hi There

There is no error message on the screen. I get the little circle action for ever and then the screen goes whitish but it freezes. The make of the machine is an Aspire 43492528. It has windows 7. SNIS 20200427479. I am not sure about your last question ´´is the wireless card still available´´ because the laptop is frozen and I cannot open anything.

It would be helpful if I get the email address of manager for support in Rio de Janeiro because I have no resposne to my email sent to the Saup Paulo office and the 0800 phone does not work.

Have you attempted to boot into Safe Mode?

Check the devices in Device manager from there?
