Have you tried to create a recovery media?

i don't think that size difference can be something really bad, maybe it's just a better compression or a windows build version change.

which version of windows OS is installed now?

then i suggest you to upgrade to windows 10, your laptop deserves it. Smiley Happy

I have already made a recovery usb flash drive and this is smlaler in size than the one I made when I got the pc new..

One file of 2GB size is missing in the folder Sources.

I had upgraded to windows 10 and was faced with many problems and Acer advised to go back to windows 8

    Thanks for your help

    about windows 10 issues, it's a bit strange, i have a S7-393 and it's running smoothly.

2GB less is a lot, maybe the actual partition is missing some Acer software; if you still have the bigger one on the USB flash drive, keep it and use it to restore your system in the worst case.

    Isn't S7-392 Haswell?

    S7-393 is newer Broadwell?

Different platforms.  Lots of Acer Haswells have problems with Windows 10.  But I'm sure they're working on it as we speak.

I'm commenting on it because  you said it's "strange".  Unfortunately we all don't have newer Broadwell or Skylake.

I am obliged to see your remarks as it makes the readers aware of the issue.

In view of your knowledge and experience I seek your personal help.

    1. My hard drive has been reimaged by Acer repair centre yet it is the same as before-nothing changed at all.

    2. I was not offered when I had this pc after reimage to make recovery disks or even recovery key which I made any way. Can you please give me instructions as to how I can make recovery disks or only solution is to buy from Acer for £50.06?

Look forward to you advice. Thanks

    Kind regards

    Kris

didn't you already did the USB recovery media?

that's all, you don't need anything else.
