Iconia w510 broadcom network adapter

I have an Iconia W510, recently purchased.  For the first few days I had wifi, then before I had found my way around the tablet and switched of Windows update, it was updated from win8 to win8.1.  From that point the wifi would NOT connect.

What I see:

  1. Device manager – Broadcom network adapter (abbreviated to BNA) with yellow triangle
  2. Properties for BNA (code 10)
  3. After setting up the wifi connection and attempting to connect (error 651)

What I have done:

  1. Rolled back to win8. BNA with STILL has yellow triangle
  2. Uninstalled Broadcom driver. Restarted  FAILED
  3. Uninstalled BNA. Restarted FAILED
  4. Downloaded ALL Acer downloads for W510.
  5. Uninstalled BNA and drivers – restarted
  6. Individually installed Acer drivers (there are 7). After each FAIL I uninstalled BNA and driver and installed the next on the list. ALL FAILED
  7. Created a recovery stick.
  8. Did a factory reset. BNA with STILL has yellow triangle
  9. Did a recovery from the recovery stick.  BNA with STILL has yellow triangle
  10. Phoned Windows Customer Support (misnomer) – Not their responsibility (phone the tablet manufacturer)
  11. Phoned Acer Customer Support (misnomer) – No responsibility – Download the updates, really? Already done that FAILED
  12. Phoned the company from which I purchased the tablet – take it to a repair person!

I am using a USB to USB to connect the Iconia to my laptop, so I do not have to go through downloading to laptop, transfering to stick, transfering to Iconia.

There are 1000’s of posts pertaining to this issue.  I would really like to see just one solution that works.

For the sake of my sanity, someone, PLEASE HELP.

Where are all the Acer gurus?  Or an Acer Tech.  Or just someone with a working knowledge of this issue

I had the same issue when going up to 8.1 at the time, some days it would connect and others days it just wouldn't have it.  I haven't had that issue since upgrading to Windows 10, which I much prefer to Win 8.1, although imho 8.1 was a lot better behaved than 8.

I never had a problem with mine and am running W10 now but the yellow triangle and the code 10 usually means it is competing for a resource with something. Is there anything unusual connected to the tab ?
