Problems after attempting RAM upgrade on 4820TG

I tried to install 2*4GB of Kingston HyperX Impact 1600MHz memory on a 4820TG laptop.
However the system went very unstable. Memtest86+ crashed and I couldn't boot to the operating system.
I have since returned the memory kit but some problems remain after putting the old RAM back!
Symptoms include:
BIOS menu can't be quitted, the screen just freezes.
Memtest86+ works but complains about failsafe mode.
The fan gets loud while starting operating system.
Shutdown doesn't work properly, again, the screen freezes. I have to push the power button long time to finish.
Is there any way to fix these problems?

Hello,
Have you tried to remove and replace the cmos battery?

It seems to be difficult to reach the CMOS battery. I fear that I break something...

Hello,
Yes you are right. There are several pictures showing the Cmos battery but the first is wrong. It is located under the keyboard. This requires a complete disassembly of the motherboard. Forget!

I know a person who can disassemble it safely.
It's rather worrisome that BIOS displays product name as "482ü".

Hello,
It's rather worrisome that BIOS displays product name as "482ü".
- Do you see now something on the screen?
- Is it in the bios setup utility?
- "482ü" sound like a bios corrupted.

2. Yes, Product Name under Information tab.
Anyway, since the operating system is working normally besides glitchy startup and shutdown, I won't take any further risks by disassembling it. The guarantee period is ended though.
