Iconia W510 - Blue Screens, Wifi Issues and Sound Issues

Hi,

I have had my W510 since Thursday and have had nothing but problems since I got it.

Firstly, my sound is not working properly. I can be listening to an album, after one song I get an error saying This file can not be played! and every other song has a little grey x by it. At this point, nothing makes any noise, Music, Apps, P&P Notifications etc.

This randomly fixes its self, if not I have to restart.

WiFi, when my PC locks or goes to sleep and I turn it back on the WiFi signal states 'Limited'. I have to connect and disconnect to fix it.

Lastly, god **bleep** Blue Screens Of Death - On a brand new Tablet ffs??

I can not shutdown or restart without a BSOD. It used to display a .sys file that caused it so I googled this for a fix which worked for a few hours..

Now it BSOD's so quickly you can see the file that caused it.

Currently it takes around 5 minutes to restart stating Restarting... then it will just BSOD and start again.

Also on login it can sometimes take 5 minutes to load after I put my password in.

What is this *****? I've spent £500 on a machine that doesnt even work.

Someone please help, I've googled this issues time and time again and can not fix it. I've got the latest Windows 8 updates and the latest driver from Acer's Live Updater.

One issue I have noticed is that the Live Updater permanently states 'Restart Needed' I think this is for a BIOS update? But of course when I restart it will BSOD and start windows again..

When I reach Windows, it asks If I want to send details to Micro$haft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I think a fresh format and install would do great but I can not get into that mode because of BSOD.. (Right swipe menu, PC Settings, General, Reinstall Windows wiping all files start from fresh etc.)

ASUS Iconia W510, 64GB.

Thanks,

Dean

sorry to hear about your issues. This really is a decent device. If I were you i would take it back and exchange it before 14 or 15 day return policy was up. And either trade it for a new one or go get the Asus Vivo Tab Smart at only 499.99. That was my firzt choice butbmoney burned a hole in my pocket and the Vivo Tab Smart wasn't released yet.
