    That sounds like a broken record. 8^)

     

    OK, let's try the simplest mklink command I can think of. First, go to the prompt as an administrator. Note what directory you're in. For example, C:\windows|system32\. Then enter "dir cmd.exe". If cmd.exe shows up in that directory, then enter the following command line.

     

    mklink c:\prompt.exe c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe

     

    Do you still get access denied?

    If my previous suggestion for creating the prompt.exe symbolic link to cmd.exe works on your system, then run c:\prompt.exe from inside windows to make sure you get the same response as if you run cmd.exe from inside windows.

     

    Also, make sure your external USB or SD drive (D:\) is formatted in the NT file system. Then we'll proceed from there.
