what am i missing here. 2 monitors, same "issue", it's gotta be something in my setup. both monitors will overclock to 90 and be fully functional but as soon as i set it to 95 or 100 i can no longer see anything on the monitor, just the wall paper and task bar. I cant view the nvidia control panel or windows display to try and change the refresh rate to match the 95 or 100.

I have an identical setup to yours. Same GPU's in SLI, same CPU, Same Drivers and OS.

I got my X34 today and I also cannot get it to work reliably past 90hz. I can manage to get the desktop working at 95hz, but suffer from intense screen flickering while gaming. Attempting to put the desktop at 100hz just gives me a black screen like yours.

I'm currently a bit bummed and trying to decide whether to keep this monitor or not. For $1300 it should perform at 100hz as advertised.

You can try to exchange it. If you are in the US definitely exchange it since your country had laws that allow you to exchange up to 30 days. But know that acer is not guaranteeing that the monitor will overlock to its advertised speed with the phrase "up to 100hz" so in some countries they might not exchange it.

I have to say that I love everything about this panel besides the fact that I can't go above 90hz. After gaming on it for a few hours I've decided to keep it. I don't feel like playing the X34 lottery until I get a 100hz panel, unless it's something Acer would issue an RMA for.

That being said, It still bothers me that I'm not getting the full X34 potential while paying the same price as everyone else.

I agree. Mine only go to 95hz but the panel itself is pretty good with minimal IPS glow and almost no backlight bleed. Those 2 are what's really important for me.

Well you are doing better than I am . 85 is the best and many are having the same issues. Worse still is that Acer technical support is abysmal. They don't have any clue.  You can try to call them but good luck.  Some would even suggest it is your cables. If you have a good quality current VESA standard DisplayPort cable (as I do)  then it isn't that. My cables supported 144Hz on my XB270HU monitors and are 10 feet in length. Acer Tech said I had to use HDMI 2.0 cables - that was also wrong.  Using the HDMI cable removed the OC function from the monitor. I am wondering if the issue is related to Windows 10. I am curious if you are using Win 7/8/8.1? I am running a 3 monitor set up with the X34 in the center....I have a brand new HB280HK I was going to swap one of hte 270's for...but am holding off until this is resolved for the X34.

Overclocking a panel is not related to any software, it's completely the capability of the panel itself. That is why Acer did not ship the monitor at 100hz and it did not say 100hz guaranteed. Additionally, overclocking is on these monitors is enabled through g-sync and only through Display Port. Those tech support guys saying you need HDMI 2 needs to be let go because they don't even know the technical details of their products. For folks in the US with very good customer protection laws, they can just easily return the product if they don't like it. For us here in Asia we have to live with what we get and in my case I'm just happy I got a good panel even though I can only achieve a 95hz overclock.

What happens after a reboot? If there was an issue with 95hz or 100hz in terms of the monitor it wouldn't turn on, or it would start flickering as it's not stable. The fact that the NVCP isn't shown is odd, but I don't know what would be causing that.

In my case, the panel becomes unstable at 95hz after selecting the option in the NVCP. I can see the desktop but it flickers during gaming. After selecting 100hz in the NVCP the screen just goes black before I can even confirm the settings in the NVCP.

I've tried setting the refresh rate in the windows 10 display settings instead and got the same results.

Acer-Cory - there are multiple users essentially saying the same thing about the X34. It is advertised as being able to reach 100Hz via a selection on the monitor itself. Then when you get the monitor that is not the complete picture - you also have to select this via Nvidia GeForce Experience and possibly again via Windows. I can live with that IF that worked.  It doesn't. Further ACER Tech support recommneded to me to buy a HDMI 2.0 cable.  Not thinking I did and wasted more money as HDMI disables OC on the monitor - it is not an available selection. So I am dubious of calling ACER again. There is a combination of things at work here but I can promise you the issue is not related to cabling (tried multiple variations including length of cable, number of monitors, etc). There is ZERO Windows 10 driver support. Before we go into Generic PnP monitors and Windows the bottom line is Microsoft isn't the manufacture of high end monitors and systems and sometimes Generic isn't enough.

So I would like to know if Acer is seeing these issues or not with QA?

What software and componet combinations are they using?

WILL there be Windows 10 support in the near term?

Do you own or have access to the X34?

If not which of you do have one?

If none of you do then why are you trying to deal with those of us with issues when you can't see what we are seeing?

I am frustrated about 2 things - the exhorborant cost and it not doing what it is advertised to do and just how clueless ACER Techsupport is.
