sound card not recognized on Vertiron M4620G running windows 8.1 64bit

Hi folks,

have been trying to install new "soundblaster" card and device manager does not recognize pci-e.

Have disabled onboard sound controller in bios,still nothing

any suggestions ?

    can you post the exact soundblaster model?

     

    have you already checked on Device manager selecting show hidden devices under View tab?

    I'm not an Acer employee.

    card is an Audigy FX Model SB1570,and yes is still not listed in hidden devices

    on which PCI lost do you plug your  Audigy FX Model SB1570?

     

    do you use the one on the left of the CMOS battery?

     

    have you uninstalled Realtek Audio drivers before installing the Audigy? (it has a Realtek chip too)

    am using PCIeX1 Slot, left of CMOS battery.

    No,I have not tried uninstalling drivers for Realtek,just disabled in bios.

    will give it a go this evening when I get home.
