Aspire S7-392 shuts down every 30 minutes after upgrade to Windows 10
Hi,
My S7-392 shuts down after 30 minutes (exactly) of being on almost every time (I use it normally plugged-in). This problem became very regular after the upgrade to Windows 10. When I had Windows 8.1 it happened, but not every day, now it's very regular (like 90% of time it's shut down unexpectedly).
I also experience it in Safe Mode.
There's no BSOD, no messages in Event Viewer, except that the previous shutdown was unexpected. There's no perceived overheating.
What do I do? Is this problem known?

yes, there's some hardware or BIOS issue.

Have you already tried to update BIOS?
check your version first:
windows logo key + r
type
msinfo32
read BIOS version/date string, if your version is lower than 2.12, please update:

I think I'd updated it even before the upgrade. My BIOS version/date reads "Insyde Corp. V2.12, 20/05/2014".

ok, have you already updated drivers from Acer support website?
Expecially, Intel's.
can you also try one thing?
boot to BIOS pressing F2 and check if it shuts down after 30 minutes too.

The problem was present without (just after a fresh Windows 10 November install) AND with drivers installed from Acer website (including Intel ones). I could post here an output of "driverquery /v | findstr Running" if it helps.
I'll try the idea with BIOS and will get back today.

no need to post it, just normal troubleshoot, since i don't know your OS/drivers updates.

Same problem with BIOS setup menu. A shutdown after 30 minutes exactly (tried twice, happened both times).
I guess at this point it's likely a hardware/firmware problem...
