Windows 8.1 has frozen so I reboot the laptop. Windows show a recovery screen saying file is missing or contains errors. , Acer logo and Preparing automatic repair show up.

I turn off computer. Turn on, Acer logo for two seconds and  preparing automatic repair message show up, No loading circle. None of the option work (enter, esc or f8). Tried many...many time alt f10 nothing. It is an original partition. With Aomei partition assistant (I installed the hard drive to another pc) I can see all the partition and they have a lot of megabyte:

*:Recovery

*:ESP

*:

*:Acer

I dont have usb or dvd recovery utility.

How can repair windows and keep my data?

Nope! no backup of my data. I will...soon has the pc will be back on track.

    1. create a vanilla Windows 8.1 installation media from this link:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

once done, boot from that installation media, choose repair your pc then

    Click on Troubleshoot.
    Click on Advanced Options.
    Click on Startup Settings.
    Click on Restart.
The PC will now reboot to the Startup Settings screen.
Press 4 to Enable Safe Mode as prompted.

if safe mode works, you can backup all your personal data to a flash drive.

after the backup you can try to fix the start up issue:

    2. Once you boot using the Windows installation disc, on the Windows 8.x installation window, click on Repair your computer.
    3. Click on Troubleshoot and in the Advanced options. First thing you may try is the Automatic Repair.

If that does not help, go for System restore and check if you can reload previous restore point (before your issue)
    4. If that does not help, then select Command Prompt. Enter the following four commands into the prompt.
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd
Once the command completes, restart the computer.

I downloaded the file copy on USB flash drive. But laptop doesn't détect the USB drive.
In the BIOS setup utility under boot , i tried USB CD-ROM, usbfdd,USB hdd none let the Acer program take over. I triée Evert of 3 USB ports the laptop have and still nothing.

I have only another computer with XP to help me if needed.

you don't need to copy the downloaded file but you have to run it and let download windows 8 installation media and follow onscreen instruction on how to make a bootable USB flash drive.
