    • Aspire E 15 Blu Ray

    Has anyone tried to install a bluray player or DVD drive into an Aspire E 15? It looks like there is a place to install.

      Greetings ekuvolleyball...I put a caddy with a ssd in my vacant dvd spot im sure you could get an optical drive of your choice for that spot . Notice the sata port on this E15 E5-521 of mine needed the caddy to fit the ssd but opticals plug right in Smiley Happy.

           Any update on this thread?
           I'll be getting an Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-5341 soon and I would like to at least add the DVD drive to it. Preferably, I'd like to add a Blu Ray writer to it instead but I've found an issue. The stock DVD unit seems to be 9.0 mm high. All of the Blu Ray units I have found so far list themselves as 9.5 mm.
           Does anyone have the facts on this? Specifically, will a 9.5 mm high unit fit in the E5-575G chassis?
