Hello, when accessing boot menu via F12 only shows Hard drive and network boot.

On the F2 - Boot priority order (shows legacy on Boot Mode) does not seem to recognize the usb.

work around?

Was planning to get the usb backup from acer for $44 but not sure it would work with the current bios setup.

    that sounds pretty strange.

on my reference i can find USB boot under BOOT tab on BIOS, but this under UEFI settings.

if your laptop had UEFI as factory setting, the Acer erecovery need that.

what kind of OS are you trying to boot from USB and how you burn it on the USB flash drive?

I specifically selected a Windows 7 laptop to bypass all the restrictions with Windows 8.   Why does the F12 not show any other boots other than the Hard Drive and Network?   Why does the Boot Menu on F2 show Legacy?

thank you IronFly for your time.

I know about erecovery, but wanted to get everything needed in the event I had any problems down the line.

As I understand this, if I had a hardware crash and put a usb bootable from Acer into my drive (no dvd on this model) I would not be able to do it as the only two options are Hard drive and network boot when pressing the F12 option on boot.

I just purchased the machine and will be returning it.

Noticed that it supports Legacy and UEFI.  Thank you for your help.

    You welcome.

Honestly, if you don't have any particulare software that need windows 7, think to upgrade to windows10.
The new release that is just available gives a good performance boost and under UEFI and GPT your laptop will be safer from virus and MBR hacks.
