Impossible to Learn How to Upgrade

The "Get Windows 10" app on my laptop tells me I can't upgrade yet because Acer has not released drivers. The Acer website tells me I can actually upgrade at this page: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/windows10-eligible-models

Here's what that page says: "For the following supported models, you will be guided through the upgrade process. You can also follow the step-by-step instructions to manually upgrade your device to Windows 10."

There is no guide. There are no instructions. These words are not linked. The page leads nowhere, and onlly links back to itself.

The FAQ for this "Windows 10" forum contains no instructions on how to upgrade. Searching for basic instructions yields nothing.

If this is a prank, it's infuriating.

    • For the following supported models, you will be guided through the upgrade process. You can also follow the step-by-step instructions to manually upgrade your device to Windows 10.

if you click on your windows 10 upgrade icon (near clock and date), windows will guide you through the whole update process.

this is what the sentence means.

about drivers, windows 10 will check about new versions or you can find it manually on the Acer support website:

    http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support

it's really easy to update to windows 10 but i just suggest you to create the Acer recovery media before updating.

look for the Acer recovery software on your laptop and follow instructions or read those easy step by step microsoft instructions:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive

no pranks intended. Smiley Very Happy

As I mentioned, the Win 10 icon will not let me upgrade. When I click on it, I get a message that begins:

"Thank you for reserving your free upgrade. We recommend that you upgrade after you get your notification that Windows 10 is ready for your specific PC."

"Okay, notify me when ready" is the only button proivded.

My laptop is an Aspire V5-572P, which is listed on http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/windows10-eligible-models as eligible for an upgrade.

What would be my next step?

Thank you in advance for your help.

First of all, you need to check if windows update installed all the updates even the suggested, if not, do it and then check if windows 10 update is available.

    or

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

download the proper version and choose to update, not clean install.
