Acer V3-772G - upgraded to Windows 10. After a while WiFi vanished from Network Connections.

Upgraded to Windows 10 . After a few days WiFi adapter disappeared from Network Connections list. It still shows in Devices list without any errors. Tried to reinstall driver - no joy. Ethernet adapter works fine, Bluetooth works fine.

Also, WiFi Virtual Network Adapter does not show in a list of devices anymore.

Any clues?

Are you saying WiFi adapter disappeared from Network Connections list, but wifi and bluetooth are still working fine?

When you go to Network and Sharing Center, can you see "Change Adapter Settings" on the left and if so, what happens when you click it?

No, WiFi does not work. I can see WiFi adapter on a list of devices (device manager) but that is it.

No WiFi in Network Connections, no WiFi on Network & Internet.

But Ethernet and Bluetooth work fine.

Forgot about WiFi Virtual Network Adapter - it vanished from hidden devices on device manager too.

Thanks, I have seen that one and many more like that. Not my case.

Tried to use USB Wifi adapter - same results. It shows on device manager but that is it.

Even replaced Wifi adapter thinking it might be faulty - still no joy.

Uninstalled all network adapters - after reboot all came back, ethernet kicked in instantly but still no WiFi.

Do not have registry key related to Cisco VPN in a registry nor dpi_something on netsh list.

I think it is all related to the fact that WiFi Virtual Adapter is missing but can't find any info on how to reinstall/revitalise it.

Too late for me. Looks like the only option is to reset Windows but to reinstall all software after that - 2 days job.

As ethernet still works, will wait for a while, maybe somebody, sometime finds a solution. Or I start ripping apart a registry on my PC.........

Hi a have a different question. Did you upgrade to Windows 10 by the icon near the watch, or manual by the upgrade tool from the Microsoft web page. I have a V3 772G model and i'm still waiting for the info that i can upgrade from 8.1 to Win 10.

    I upgraded from here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-upgrade

I upgraded my My Aspire 5250 and I was very surprised I didn't have a single problem or bad driver as the 5250 is not on Acer's approved for Windows 10 list.

Ubgraded by an icon, it was quick and easy and everything worked after that. Till a moment WiFi went AWOL.

Finding no solution for it I reset Windows. No data loss but of course all applications have to be reinstalled. Looks like incompatible verion of Kaspersky was at a root of my problem.
