Acer S5, can anybody help? Would be nice to take advantage of the quick wake up!

When the computer is woken from sleep mode power light turns blue, cooling fans start however screen remains off (not black) no response to Fn switch monitor and Fn brightness keys. Computer is new with no additional software installed.

Has the system ever been able to wake from sleep? What power settings are you using? Have you loaded any Windows updates that may have caused the issue?

It has never been able to wake from sleep, it is on a balanced power plan, no windows updates (windows 7 pro) and has recently been reformatted to factory default settings, problem still persists.

    Many thanks for any ideas!

You may try some of the suggestions for this issue that are offered on Microsoft's thread regarding waking from sleep at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproperf/thread/1d478f44-2a24-4cca-9cff-40d639b7a8f1/.

Did try the powercfg -devicequery wake_armed which did sort the issue out until the computer restarted and now no longer has any effect. Trying to work out why it worked temporarily? In CMD the command doesnt come back with any responses, running the error checker on powercfg shows that the motherboard/bios doesnt support s4 (not relevant I think as the computer is only able to enter sleep anyways). The drivers are all up-to-date as is the Bios (1.09 for windows 7 64bit), seeing as the problem resolved itself at least temporarily I am sure it isn't a hardware issue however would appreciate all suggestions!

Hopefully this makes sense to someone else!
