V3-571G - Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 issue

Member Posts: 2 New User

Hi guys,

So my last laptop update was to replace the stock wifi with a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.This new card is a combo wifi+bluetooth. The wifi part works flawlessly but... I just can't turn on the bluetooth...so i'll just list the things i tried so far:

-clean install win7: wifi ok,bt doesn't show up in device manager

-clean install win10: wifi ok,bt doesn't show up in device manager

-bios reset..version 1.13..last one for this version(2012 laptop)

-tried nearly all intel drivers from their site

-tried Launch Manager for win7/win8

With the old stock card FN+F3 would open that small window where i could click to turn on wifi or bt...with this new card pressing FN+F3 directly enables wifi and that's it.

Tested the new card in 2 other brand laptops and the bt works ok there(as in it gets displayed in the device manager and works).

Any idea?

Thanks,

Marius.

The driver for the Wifi part of it is compatable, but the driver for the bluetooth is not.

I had the same problem with a V5-551. The Intel wifi worked great, but the bluetooth didn't work at all.

I tried all the Intel drivers and finally used a USB bluetooth adapter. That is probably what you will have to do.
