Acer R7-572 on Windows 10 touchscreen scrolling issue

Well I eventually did the upgrade. If you want to call it that. I might switch back to Win 8.1

I'm going along reading a webpage, just scrolling down a bit and it jumps away from me and scrolls all the way to the bottom of the page. I have to start scrolling back up to find my place. Then sometimes it does it again right after. Incredibly annoying, and I cant make it do it when I try, it's only when I'm not expecting it.

Is this happening for anyone else?

    Apache0c,

Try removing drivers and letting Windows 10 install them after a restart and see if that resolves the issue.

Alright, thanks. Where do I go to remove the drivers?

    Apache0c,

Here is an article that explains how to get to the Device Manager. Once there, you should see a section labeled Human Interface Devices. Click the + symbol next to it and look for something that should say HID-compliant touch screen. Right click the touch pad on it and choose uninstall. Once that completes, restart the notebook as normal.

Update, I uninstalled the touchscreen and restarted. The problem still exists. Seriously thinking of reverting to windows 8.1.

Any other thoughts? Would really like to resolve this. Is nobody else having this issue?

    Apache0c,

See if anything in these threads help get it up and running, and if it does, you can post what exactly it was for other R7-572 customers.

Two new Windows 10 official updates later, and the problem still remains.

The threads suggested for help were about completely different issues.

This is an annoying problem. Running chrome browswer. Firefox is really unstable.

Are you scrolling by touching the screen and moving your finger up or down, or by clicking on the scrollbar? In the first case the problem is liable to be something setting it's own priority higher tha the touchscreen. In the second it's a touch repeat issue where you touch for a page scroll and the touch is recorded over and over again.

Thanks for your question. I scroll by dragging the page up with my finger on the touchscreen. All these months later and the issue still remains. Really annoying.

Try booting in clean mode to see if you get the same symptoms. If they go away it's likely an interaction with some software installed. Then try adding things back in one at a time. If you have the same issues with a clean boot then it pretty much has to either be the touchscreen drivers or hardware. I can visualize a scenario where the digitizer to motherboard connection is picking up noise, but I'd expect the issue to affect all touches instead of just scrolling...
