Disable OS for permanent monitor

Member Posts: 3 New User

I've connected my all in one "touch" screen to a laptop, and mean to use the thing only for a dumb monitor.  Touch screen is very NOT responsive.

I still have the monitor revert back to the all in one PC (android OS) after the laptop sleeps for a while.  How do I disable the all in one "PC" functionality so I don't have to poke and push and tap endlessly on the ODF and HDMI buttons to get moved back to plain old monitor?

    mowriter,

Unfortunately, the only way to avoid that would be to turn the external display off. When you power the notebook back on give it a couple seconds and then turn the external display back on, it should automatically detect the notebook pushing a signal and go right to that display rather than have to tap on screen buttons.

Thank you for that info.  I keep the laptop on for extended periods, and tucked away. Is it possible to remove and re-insert the HDMI connection, too?  Would plugging it back in re-establish the signal that there's a peripheral attached?

Do these models usually have non-responsive touch screens?  Seems counter-productive for a touch screen PCs touch screen not to work (Media All-In-One Model No. DA220HQL - Version A smiaog).  I find when I push HARD on the screen, then touch the HDMI button, it responds.  And this is after I have to plug in a mouse to the PC to even select the OCR button in the bottom tray.

    mowriter,

We have a DA220HQL here near me that I use as an external monitor to test desktop products, I am not going to lie, it is not the best experience getting the OSD to switch to HDMI. I am not sure if it is maybe because it is the Android operating system having to transit from one to the other, either way, using the method I listed is how I do it every time and it works flawlessly that way, saving me the trouble of clicking some onscreen buttons. Smiley Wink
