I want to install a GPU into my ATC-605-UB12.  The Motherboard for it is MS-7869 VER:1.0.  I need a GPU under $70.  I do not know the exact lenght of the PCI-E slot.  Is there any good GPU out there under $70?  Recommend some to me and I'll take a look at it.

How much Watts is my PC currenly using?  I unistalled my previous GPU driver.  Bought the R7-240 and put it in the PCIe slot.  Started the computer and it would not start up.  I took it out and started up my computer and it was working fine.  The R7-240 is only using 30 watts.  I made sure the VGA wire was plugged in all the way on the right slot.  My PC again is an ATC-605-UB12. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Hello,

You don't need to uninstall Intel HD Graphic.

You'll switch on the graphic board in AMD Catalyst Center:

Choosing a switchable graphics method (Dynamic or Fixed)

    • Select the graphics processor based on application needs (Dynamic)
    • Select the graphics processor manually or based on power source (Fixed)

    Note:

As the PCIE X16 port is managed by the processor, I think there is a driver included with the Intel HD Graphics driver.

Im at the AMD Catalyst Control Center and I don't know where to go to "Change Graphics Method".  I tried searching it but Irrelevant stuff popped up.  If it is in BIOS settings, then you need to tell me steps by steps on what to do because I don't wana mess with anything I don't know.

The video said nothing about how to change from integrated Intel graphics into dedicated graphics.  All he said is how to enhance gaming performance to the max.  I dont want to do that yet, I want to figure out how to install the GPU.

If I install the GPU into the PCIe slot when my pc is OFF, and the VGA cord is connected to the GPU itself, my PC doesn't start.  If my VGA cord is connected to my Intel graphics, WHILE the AMD GPU still in the slot, my PC turns on.  When I scan for hardware changes, doesn't say anything but the integrated gaphics itself.

I also think the problem is that I have Windows 10, and R7-240 supports Windows 8 and up.  I also believe that I don't have enough watts.

  • Hello,

I found the solution (Sorry I forget Secure Boot option):

    1. Uninstall AMD Catalyst Control Center.
    2. Restart the desktop.
    3. Uninstall Intel Graphics driver. The desktop will restart automatically.
    4. Restart again the desktop.
    5. Press [F2] when you'll see Acer logo
    6. In the bios setup utility, go to BootOptions tab and disable Secure Boot.
    7. Press [F10] Save and Exit. The desktop will start automatically.
    8. Shut down and unplug all power (tower, monitor, printer etc). Wait few minutes.
    9. Connect the monitor to the new graphic board.
    10. Plug all and start up.
    11. The new graphic will be detected. Install AMD CCC.

    Sorry again.
