When monitor goes to sleep all open windows are resized in the top left corner with my new xr341ck.

Connected with mini DP cable on Windows 10 with latest CCC drivers and Acer monitor driver. Acers driver is listed only for Windows 7/8. Could this be the problem? I didn't have this problem with my Dell 3415w monitor so I don't think it is a windows issue.

Looks like more are reporting issues with the monitor going to sleep in windows 10.  Acer support just says monitor is plug and play, don't need drivers.

I wanted to add that when I connect with a HDMI cable it doesn't have the issue but I cannot run that way because FreeSynce appears to only work with DP.

Can anybody from Acer help fix this situation? Is my monitor defective? Do I need to RMA it?

Thank you for the reply. However, I dont' think a work around should be needed as this wasn't an issue with my Dell 34in.

Do you know if Acer will allow firmware updates on this monitor to fix issues? The Dell did.

At this time, I am not aware of an update that would resolve this type of issue. I have forwarded your concerns to our product team for evaluation. Any driver or firmware updates we release would be posted at http://www.acer.com, in the Drivers and Manuals section.

Any response from the team? I need to know if this monitor is defective and needs to be returned.

    Thanks

We have not been able to duplicate the issue you are describing. Can you please post a video of the issue you are having?

Can you test by unplugging the monitor and setting the PC to sleep and then waking it and plugging in monitor again. Repeat that exact same process with the monitor plugged in the entire time and compare. Please let me know your results.

Also, if you have remote access software installed on the system, it may adjust the window size to fit on the remote PC.

I tried to upload a video but the file size is to big. Do you have an email address I can send it too? Then you can resize and post for others?

After some checking, we do not experience the same issue that is shown in your video. I found another thread online that relates to the previous one I posted that documents this issue. I am curious....Have you attempted the workaround in this thread to see if it fixes the issue? Also, do you have remote access setup on this system?

I do not have any remote access software installed. I have tried the work around and that did not fix the issue either.

Are you guys using the Catalyst drivers in the lab? Looks like it may be the Catalyst drivers causing the issue. If I do a complete uninstall of CCC and clean the system using the GPU uninstall tool. It does not happen. After I install CCC it will then reisize my Windows. When I power off my monitor it makes the disconnect sound and when I power it back on it make 3 connection sounds and everything is resized.

Obvisiously I need to have CCC installed to take advantage of FreeSync. As a remider - I am using Windows 10.

I also used TeamView to look at my computer when I turn off the monitor. When I turn it off nothing happens to the desktop. Its when I turn it back on that that I can see that the windowss on my desktop resize.

Teamview is one of the remote access programs that was mentioned in the threads where other users were having this issue. Do you have another computer that you can test the monitor on? Since we have not been able to duplicate this issue or have reports from other users, I am assuming it is something with the configuration of your setup, and not a hardware issue with the monitor itself. At this point, I don't have any troubleshooting steps that will help resolve this issue. If I get additional information from my product team, I will pass it along.

Please read my Post. I didn't have this installed. I only installed to test what it was doing when the monitor turned off.  It has since been removed from my system.

I do not have another system. Did you confirm that you have tried with CCC installed (AMD drivers)

I now have hooked up my 34in UltraWide Dell monitor (3415w) with the same exact cable and configuration and it does not have the problem. Since this cannot be repeated in your lab and it does not happen with the Dell I am thinking it is a problem with your Monitor.

I need you guys to send me a replacement.

Unfortunately, I am not able to replace the monitor. Even if we did send a replacement monitor, I do not feel it would resolve your issue. The issue you are reporting has been discussed for 5+ years on the internet, it’s always involving AMD and it looks like it’s an issue where Windows, the GPU, the driver seem to think the monitor is disconnected when it goes to sleep. This resets the resolution, pushing all the windows into a smaller corner. The monitor doesn’t control if the PC can determine the connection. Ultimately, there seems to be a compatibility issue with your monitor and the particular configuration of the system you are connecting it to. You have even stated that you have been able to get the monitor to work in certain conditions, which proves it is not a hardware fault with your monitor, but is related to a software/configuration issue.

I want to be able to assist in getting your issue resolved, however, there are many variables in play. I suggest checking periodically to see if there are any future windows updates, driver updates, or CCC updates that may resolve your issue.

That doesn't explain why the Dell in the exact same configuaration does not have the issue. Maybe it is indeed a hardware fault or a problem with the Acer drive itself.
