I first asked about this on the Amazon questions page. Acer replied once, but nothing else since.

We connected a USB hard drive to the one that we happen to have and it looks like it was drawing 4.86 watts of power. It could be that your hard drive may be drawing more power than is being pushed by one USB port, have you tried connecting a dual USB cable to it and seeing if that resolves the issue? As a reminder, please ensure that you have the USB hub cable connecting the monitor and the external PC together

Hmmm... Also tried a webcam and a usb drive. (I had successfully used the webcam when I first set up the monitor. I tested it with skype.) Hub cable? I thought it only has displayport?

Thank you for finding this and responding Acer!

No dual usb devices. The build is as follows: MSI GTX 970 video card, MSI Gaming 6 motherboard, i7-4790k Intel processor, 750watt platinum power supply, 500gb SSD, 16gb ram. I thought it might have something to do with multi monitor support but I disconnected all other monitors & restart to no avail. Also can't seem to find a clean driver install online.

    Nate_H,

The hub cable they were referring to is what "connects" the monitor USB ports to the PC, essentially, one (PC) side is a standard USB connection, the other (monitor) side is not. The connection I am referring to is on the bottom left side as you are facing the front of the monitor, hard to miss. Smiley Happy I am presuming that you have plugged this cable in so the devices will communicate with your PC properly?

    Nate_H,

I'd like to research this to see if it "should" have come with that USB hub cable or not, the user manual says optional, would you please PM (private message) me the following information?
