Hi,

I have a curious problem.  I bought this laptop in 2013.  I have since forgotten the bios password.  I had not used the tablet in the last 6 months due to an issue with the power supply.  Now to my chargin I cannot remember the windows password either.  I tried to boot from SD card but it looks like BIOS is setup to boot to internal storage directly.  How can I get myself out of this situation?

Thanks,

Abhik

You will have to have someone with access to the Acer service manuals look at it but suspect the case needs to be opened.

I am pretty cluey on computers.  I can do a bit to lots more than others.  Any ideas on how to get this to go as it is outside warranty and I do not want to spend any more money on this?

Can I reflash the BIOS via micro usb connected to the computer to get rid of the password?  If this is possible then I can reinstall the OS using the recovery disks.

Well if you split the cases and remove all batteries then the CMOS should reset and lose all BIOS passwords. Then you can use normal media to reload. At least that is the theory.

This will definately void any warrenty.

Good Idea! Will definitely try it to see if it works.  Do you know/have a link to a video that shows how to pry it apart?

I am not worried about the warranty as it is already 2 years old.

Just look for a video on how to replace the battery in a W3.
