Hi, I'm having the same feedback problem, but when I follow your steps to the recording tab, it says no audio devices are installed. But I get horrible feedback!

Thanks for responding.
I have an Acer Aspire 5742-6674 and I have Windows 7 Home Premium installed.
I'm wondering if my built-in webcam has a microphone? Because if i tap on the laptop near the webcam you can hear the tapping like I'm tapping a microphone.
By following some instructions I found on the internet, I right-clicked in the white area of the recording devices tab and then checked the Show Disabled Devices option, and it shows a Microphone and Stereo Mix (Realtek High Definition Audio) and both are disabled, so the feedback can't be coming from that microphone?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

a disable device can't create feedback, by the way you can try to enbale the microphone and check if the feedback disappear.
if you check on playback device, the volume bar near speakers, goes up and down when there's feedback?

I'm having a serious problem as well. My Laptop is an Acer V5-591G-78R9 that came with Windows 10 Home. I'm having huge amounts of static while recording audio from the built in microphone. Can you help me?

I have also noticed that when I change the battery setting from high performance to Balanced, the static is reduced but not eliminated. Can someone please help?0
