Black screen V5-561P

I see the acer logo on startup and then nothing but a black screen.  Initially I was able to get into the troubleshooting  section, and tried automatic repair.  That didn't work, and I can no longer access this.  I tried booting from a USB recovery drive and am still getting a black screen.  Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

and if you try to use your USB recovery pressing F12 to choose it, then you still have a black screen?

not good, i think we are at a dead end.

you can try to contact Acer support service if still under warranty or go to a computer shop and have a check on HDD.

Have you tried with an external monitor?

Thanks for your help.  I just tried hooking up an external monitor, but nothing.  It doesn't show anything that appears on the laptop screen (either the acer logo on startup, or the F12 boot menu). The monitor appears to recognize the computer however as it wakes up when I plug the VGA cable in.

if you press ALT+F10 at boot, can you enter the recovery?

Nope.  It says "Please wait" and then goes to a black screen.

Oh no, that's what I was afraid of.   When I hit F12 and choose to boot from the USB, the Acer logo pops up and then back to a black screen.  Laptop is out of warranty by about a month.  I'll take it in to be looked at.  Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
