I bought a acer chroombook C720, it was working fine and charging fine for about a month or two, but one day i left it charging and when i got home i tried to turn on, but it wouldnt and when I looked if it was charging the charging led wasnt on. i left it alone for a month and try to plug it in and charge it but it wasnt workin so I call acer customer servise but they say the didnt know what it was so they send a new charge to see if that was the proble but it wasnt. I call acer again they told me that i could send the chromebook back but it could be a possibility that i could pay for anything they fix which i think is not fair cause i have a year guarranty, and it was about three months that i have bought it. so before sending the chromebook i tried to plug it in to see if it would work and to my surprised the charging led turn on and minutes later the chromebook turn on and it was charging fine. my happiness didnt last long cause three days later it did the same thing it wont turn on or charge again. I dont know what could it be I need help but I dont want to call acer again. if some one can help me please. my guarranty is about to expire in may i dont know what to do!

    vira,

Sorry to hear that you are having charging issues. I'd like to clarify a few things about your post, to make sure I understand what you are trying to explain.

    • "...I call acer customer servise but they say the didnt know what it was so they send a new charge to see if that was the proble but it wasnt."

How was the determination made that this wouldn't fix the problem?

    • "I call acer again they told me that i could send the chromebook back but it could be a possibility that i could pay for anything they fix which i think is not fair cause i have a year guarranty, and it was about three months that i have bought it."

The technician you spoke with was probably just giving the standard disclaimer, but they also give the same disclaimer if the description of the problem sounds like it might be something that is outside of the stadard manufacturer's warranty.

    • "so before sending the chromebook i tried to plug it in to see if it would work and to my surprised the charging led turn on and minutes later the chromebook turn on and it was charging fine. my happiness didnt last long cause three days later it did the same thing it wont turn on or charge again."

This sounds like a little bit of charge left in the battery, not an issue fixing itself unfortunately.

It sounds to me like there is a charging problem, which based on your post here doesn't sound like anything that is outside of the standard manufacturer's warranty. I'd love to see if I can help you out, but am I missing something in your post that wasn't explained to the technician you spoke with?

Thank you for responding and trying to help out. I told the technician everything that happen to the chromebook. the technician say that they didnt know if its a charging problem with the chromebook because they had already send me a new charge and it wasnt working still. so if i send it back and the problem that the chromebook has dont get cover with the guaranty the technician say the cost to fix it, will be about 130 dollars or so it all depend on the problem the chromebook has, thats why i didnt send it back.

I believe what they are trying to tell you is that if the problem is due to some damage from dropping or such, the warranty wouldn't cover it. If the problem is something like an internal disconnect between the charge port and the motherboard, then it would be covered by warranty and you wouldm't be liable for any costs. As long as you don't have damage to the port you should be OK.

I have the same problem.....my Acer Chromebook C720 won't power on, I called Acer, explained that the unit was only 4 months old, they told me I would be Charged $299.00 for repair, the computer cost me $199.00 on Amazon.. They are not honoring the One Year Warranty.....oh, and when you speak with them, You are speaking with people overseas!!! I'm so disgusted with Acer !!!
