Restore from DVD not working
My hard drive crashed, so I replaced it and am trying to load the system from recovery DVDs I created. I put the first recovery disc in the DVD drive, it loads the files, and then brings me to "Acer eRecovery Management". I select "English", and then it gives me three options:
1) Completely restore system to factory defaults
2) Restore Operating System and Retain User Data
3) Exit.
It won't let me select either of the first two options though. When I exit, it goes through the whole process again. Any ideas on why this is happening, or what I need to do?

Sorry for the amount of questions, but i'm trying to narrow a few things.
HDD is recognised by BIOS?

No problem. The HDD model and serial numbers match what shows in the BIOS.

Strange issue.
i suppose that SATA is set as AHCI.
the only thing can block option selection is missing factory partitions table but it's very strange, since normally erecovery from DVD request a fully wiped HDD.

Yes, SATA is set as AHCI. Is it possible there's just something wrong with the recovery discs? I created them a few years ago. I could purchase them from Acer...I'm just worried I'll have the same issue.

So the hard drive won't work if it's not on that list?

nope, not really.
it's just a reference.
honestly i don't have other ideas, at least i would try the trick to install the DVD recovery using another PC or laptop.
