My B286HK worked perfectly with my early 2103 Macbook Pro.  I now have a new Macbook with their 3-way adaoter that supports HDMI.  Now the monitory flickers on an off.  Any ideas?

    markrtallman,

An early 2103 Macbook Pro huh? It sounds like you have came into the past and purchased a 2015 one to see if it worked any better than one from the future? Smiley LOL Just kidding! Smiley LOL

The new Macbook uses the USB-C connection, if I am not mistaken? Are you using the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter?

What resolution are you trying to push to the monitor, that maximum resolution is 3840x2160 @ 60Hz.

Yes, I am  using the 3-day USB-C adapter with HDMI; digital.  I have subsequently resolved the 9ssue.  Apple only supports 5 UHD displays, all of which have ability to turn on MST, which Apple requires for UHD.

First, every time I changed a monitor setting, I did a PRAM start on the Mac so it would get a fresh look at the monitor.  The settings to make this owrk sis DP 1.2 and ACM ON.  I do now know if this is an Easter Egg that turned on MST or if it merely fools the Mac into thinking MST is ON.  When I did this after the PRAM start, I had the speed settings in Display Settings.  I set it to 24hz.  The display now works flawlessly, which richer color and MUCH high resolution at the highest resolutioon.

By the way, the default speed was 30hz.  Only 24hz was available.  60hz was not an option.
