FT200HQL Touchscreen Slow to Respond

Hello. I have recently purchased FT200HQL monitors. One of these monitors seems slow to respond to touchscreen presses. I need to keep my finger held on the screen for about half a second before the touch will register. If I press it and take my finger away instantly as you normally would, the touch will not register. The other monitor works fine and responds instantly.

My question is: am I overlooking a simple configuaration setting that I can change to make the touches register instantly, or is it a hardware issue? It seems odd that the two monitors would be configured differently upon leaving the factory so I'm wondering if it is a fault with the touch panel.

Thanks in advance

    jamesf2,

If they are the exact same monitors and using the exact same type of USB connection (both 2.0 or 3.0) I would say it could only be a couple things:

    • What operating system are you using by chance, I am going to guess Windows 8 since you are using multiple touch screens. Here is an article that we created for dual touchscreen monitors in Windows 8.
    • Have you went through the calibration of the touchscreens (previous link above) already to make sure that isnt the issue?
    • Have you tried the monitor on a different USB port to see if it functions any better?

Hi Justin. Thank you for your response.

I am using Windows 7. I'm not using multiple screens, just 3 different PCs each with the same model of monitor.

I have run the calibration tool through control panel which has not made a difference.

It makes no difference if I use another USB port.

    jamesf2,

Are all three of these computers the exact same in every way? If there are hardware differences that might be a reason why.

All three systems are identical in every way.

I have just tried swapping the problematic monitor with one of the good ones, leaving all cables connected to their original PCs. The problem still occurs on the same monitor even on a different PC so I am now certain that the touch panel is at fault. Am I right in thinking that this is a hardware issue that I won't be able to fix myself?
