Plugged in not charging is the official statement on the computer screen.  The battery is new and the charger is working. I have made several attempts to fix this by shutting down and holding the power button, un installing the battery, flash the bois, ect. As far as the batteries are concerned I have an extra internal battery (micro composit battery) that does not alow me uninstall it.

Also, I recently changed the hard drive. I never noticed if I was having a charging problem, I went right to the battery must be no good and got another one.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

Brian

    Hello Brian,

Have you cleaned the DC-IN connector (socket)?

    or

Have you replaced the DC cable?

    Laurent,

Yes, I have cleaned and checked everything twice. I checked the power cable with a DMM. I also used it to check the battery before it went dead. Or should I say an online post guru recommended I let it die completely and then the computer would recognize it. I know better but I'm getting real tired of this problem. I have managed to sift thru dozens of fix it articles and you tubes but they only have about three different variations of what they all consider THE FIX.  I wish some one could just give me the strait fix for this.  Accer or Microsoft should step up on odd things of this nature to keep the masses happy. It seems like a pretty common problem for old and new computers.

    Thanks,

    Brian

Tighten the bottom case screws on the laptop. On some models the battery cuts off as a safety feature if they are loose or opened. Also make sure the memory compartment door is closed and tightened.

DId the laptop charge ok before?

My ac adapter female connector was loose and didn't make contact unless I wiggled it. Once I got it in the right position it charged. But a new ac adapter fixed that problem.
