Aspire One 756-2899 Touch Pad Problem

Hi, I am having a problem with the touch pad on my Aspire One 756-2899 netbook.  Sometimes it is kinda "jumpy" - it clicks on an icon or something even if I am just moving the pointer and have no intention of clicking.

I have already done a factory reset but to no avail.  Is this a driver problem or a hardware problem?

I would really appreciate any help on this.  Thanks in advance!

In this case, you are advised to slightly decrease the pointer speed and check if that works. To do this, you can follow the steps below:
    1. Press "Windows Key + R" keys to open "Run" window.
    2. In the window, type main.cpl
    3. In the "Mouse Properties" window, go to "Pointer Options" and decrease the pointer speed. Also, make sure that the option "Enhance pointer precision" is enabled. Save the changes.
    4. Now check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue still persists, there may be some hardware issue and you are advised to contact nearest Acer service center for further assistance. To do this, the following link can be helpful:

    Hope this will help you.

Hi Guru, thank you so much for the tip!

After playing around with the pointer speed setting, it seems to have fixed the problem.  I have the pointer speed set at about 70% of maximum.

    I really appreciate your help!
