Iconia A1 - Black Screen

I have an Iconia A1.  When I push the power button, I hear and feel it rev up, but the screen remains black.  Does the unit need to be trashed or is there a way to restore it?

Thanks

Try booting into recovery mode, press and hold the power and volume buttons (volume button closest to power) at the same time and see if it shows some text on the screen after a few seconds. If it does it's not the screen itself that has failed and we just need to get things booting again. If it doesn't display anything in recovery mode then it's probably either a bad screen or a loose cable between screen and motherboard. Has it had any shocks recently?

have you checked if battery is charged?

please plug the AC charger, wait 10 minutes and then try to power up.

Thanks for the post.  I tried it and all I get are faint flashes from the screen.   So I assume it is a bad screen or a bad connection with the mother board and I need to trash it.  Would you agree?

last try, leave it plugged to the AC charger for an hour then try to boot it to recovery as Billsey said.

if you still get flashing screen, it's an hardware issue.
