Gateway FX6840

ATI graphics card only works partway into win7 boot after update,  safe mode fine, but cannot complete new download in safemode.

Can see new ATI program to load, will not load in safe mode.

No BIOS options for onboard video

MB has VGA connector, how do I enable it

No video from VGA

Comutter only beeps if I try and start without graphics card

in safe mode, are you able to go to Device manager and then click on display adapter, right click on your ATI VGA and choose uninstall?

if so, after uninstalling, reboot normally and check if it works.

Uninstalling the graphics card in Device Manager did work to allow the machine to boot into full Win7,  thanks!!

Reinstall of latest drivers did cause system to boot without video, again go figure.

Ok one monitor until we fix the issue that started the adventure.  IE will not connect to internet as well as some other spps.  Chrome will.  Any ideas

where did you download the drivers?

    about IE and other apps:

open IE, go to internet options, click on  connections tab, check VPN list (must be blank), then click on lan settings, check that only  automatically detect settings is ticked.

Right on. !! IE works. !!  Don't know how configues changed.

Downloaded the old ATI driver off of the Gateway site for Graphics.

    100% back in business.

Will- Will  Will create a restore image.
