I install windows 8.1 and Linux to use as dual boot but linux not shown in boot pls help me
Hi Acer, i am using Acer V3-571G i5. I install windows 8.1 64 bit and Linux 64 bit to use as dual boot but linux not shown in boot pls help me. When i boot it shows only windows 8.1. In my computer the drive not shows but is disk partion the drive which installd linux shows as logical.
Someone on net says " change the boot UEFI to Legacy"
but i can not such option in my bois, please help me where is it and how to change...?????

you can't update 1.x to 2.x and you don't need it.
simply you erased the Ubuntu grub after installing windows 10, follow the first link on JordanB post.

I'm pretty sure that all you have to do is disable secure boot in the bios. Also disable "windows fast startup"

Edit: I'm pretty sure you're supposed to install windows first.. and then install linux.

instead of messing with UEFI and Legacy, i would disable "secure boot" on BIOS.

if you don't have secure boot option, please check your BIOS version and update it if yours is lower than 2.21.

oh wait....your laptop had windows 7 as default OS.
you have the latest BIOS for your version and your BIOS doesn't have Legacy or disable secure boot since it's already on legacy and without secure boot, since Windows 7 doesn't need those settings.

yes, and after that i installed windows 10 insider preview,
now i boot windows 8.1 and 10 but linux not showed
how to i update bios 1.13 to 2.21 if not possible what is next step ?
