Liquid Z500 touch-screen problem

Halo, forum members.

This is my first post.

I have Liquid Z500 for a couple of days.

I thought I kept on mistapping something on the screen. I have never experienced that on another phone from another manufacturer.

So, on my Z500; I went to the "Developer Options" and activated "Show Touches".

I see that the white-circle (that indicates the coordinate of touching) and the real place that I touch on the screen are not identical. On the center of the screen, they are matching. However the more my touch goes to the edges of the screen, the bigger the differences.

e.g. If I touch about 5 mm from the right edge of the screen, the white-circle appears on the right edge of screen (a half of it appears and another half is hidden).

When I use the virtual-keyboard, I must carefully touch the center of each key; a little bit to any side, another key is wrongly pushed. Also, tapping a link in a web page can be frustrating.

I remember that some old PalmOS devices might show this issue if the screen was attached too tightly to the frame of the device. However, we now have different type of screen. Or, is it a system issue?

Does any Liquid Z500 owner experience this issue too?

Thanks.

ok, the only thing you can try before call your seller or Acer support service, is to do a factory reset and see if this fix your issue.

please do a backup of your personal, data before doing it.

I have done the factory reset but it makes no difference.

Has anyone reported the same issue?

I have the same issue in a brand new z410, it is much more noticeable at the bottom of the screen, also, it looks like its worse if I first touch the edge then a litle bit above, the issue also seems to be reset everytime the screen is rotated, so for me, it is more like a software issue, where the screen is streched and the touch point calculation does not take the screen ratio correctly, probably related to the virtual buttons being hidden screw the formula.

After have been using Asus tablet (the one with soft buttons) for more than three years without any issue with the touch screen, and seeing how Acer handles the phones; my personal conclusion:

    - Asus phone/tablet quality control is better than Acer.

    - Phone is not Acer main concern; I will avoid Acer phone.

However, for laptop I still prefer Acer to Asus. Smiley Happy

    Thanks.
