Touchpad on E3-112 has stopped working in Win 8.1
Tinkerer
The Synaptic Touchpad on my E3-112 has stopped working. It was working fine and has done for months and is still working in Ubuntu 15.04 (its a dual boot machine) but it has stopped in Windows. The cursor just isn't there and no matter how many times I click it doesn't appear.
I have pressed Fn F7 but this doesn't solve the issue.
I have checked the device manager and I do not have any devices that are flagged as not working.
I've dowloaded the most recent driver from teh Acer website and this hasn't help.
I'm not aware of any updates that have been installed lately other than the normal Microsoft Tuesday monthly patching and I've not installed any software in the past couple of months.

Found a different suggestion for a different model that was having the same issue.
It seems that the latest MS patches may have also installed a new Intel i/o driver that stops the touchpad from working. More details on this post:
Installing the I/O Drivers from the Acer Support site has fixed my issue.
