Acer Aspire Switch 10 brightness control not working

Hello everyone.

I have an Aspire Switch 10 (the first gen one with the capacitive button). Recently I have had some trouble with the brightness control. The control works after a reboot, but then simply stays at a single brightness until another reboot. Even when the adaptive light sensor is turned on, it still does not change brightness. Does anybody know of any solutions other than a factory reset? Thanks!

    ajaksalad,

Check your power option settings and advanced settings. If you have it set to something manually there it will perform as set, rather than as intended.

    Hi Justin,

Thank you for your input, but adjusting the brightness from the power controls did not work. Can you think of any other ways in which I woud be able to adjust the screen brightness without a factory reset?

    ajaksalad,

Without knowing what has been installed it is going to be hard to see if something is causing the problem or if it's a corrupt system file possibly. You can reset it to defaults, or if you know it's something that just started recently, perform a system restore to when it worked and go forward from there.

Most of the time in the advanced settings users will set the brightness to 100% on battery and plugged in, that's why I suggested looking there to see what it was set at.
