Can you replace the backlight on the c720?

I have a c720 whose backlight is not working.  I've replaced the screen and it still doesn't work.  Do you think it is the cable or can just the backlight be replaced?

    Hello,

1- Have you removed the battery before intervening?

2- Have you tried with an external monitor or LCD TV?

3- Could you give me the first ten characters of the laptop serial number (S/N)? Only the first ten.

    1) No.

    2) I've connected it to a monitor and it does not display.

    3) NXSHEAA006

1- No good. You've certainely caused overvoltages damaging the LCD panel.

2- [Fn]+[F5] - Display toggle: Switches display output between the display screen, external monitor (if connected) and both.

    3-  Aspire C720-2103

    Could you tried again #2?

    A chromebook doesn't have [Fn] + [F5]

Also, how could we have caused "overvoltages damaging the LCD panel" when we use the charger supplied by ACER???

Oups! You've tried in using the HDMI port?

    The battery (little overvoltage).

Ok.  Yes, we tried the HDMI port.  We did not get any display on an external monitor.  Power lights come on and the screen color changes slightly, but nothing is visible on display.

Have you made this same test before changing the LCD panel (HDMI port)?

Yes.  We've tried replacing the LCD screen and it did not fix the problem.  I see from other forums that there is a cable that could be causing problems as well.  We have not replaced that yet.

If you've tested in using the HDMI port and with the old LCD panel, it means your motherboard is defective (Intel HD graphic - integrated in the processor ).

The HDMI port is directly soldered on the motherboard. The motherboard is "dead".
