Aspire V3-112p HDMI out not full screen

I was very disappointed to discover that my new Aspire V3-112p apparently is not capable of generating a full-screen display on our 1080p TV. Instead there is only a small window in the middle of the screen. The available display resolution settings are very limited. I find this surprising in a modern notebook. I checked the Intel site but it says the Acer display is some kind of propriety device that can only be upgraded by Acer and Acer does not seem to have any new drivers for this. I find this very disappointing. Is there any way to improve the display output capabilities of this computer? Surely it must be possible to at least fill the screen area of the TV.

Your laptop is capable to output 1080p without issues, the problem is that your are cloning the laptop screen that has 1366 x 768 resolution.

if you switch to TV only screen, you will able to have a full 1080p resolution.

Thank you sooo much. It is easy when you know the solution. I missed this because I was distracted by the Intel buttons and I am not yet familiar with Win 8.1.

    You have made my day.
