Hello ,

I'm using acer laptop since past a year and i want to upgrade my laptop's RAM. I have currently two modules of ram both with 2-2 gb ddr3. I want to upgrade my ram to 8 gb to both modules. Is it possible to upgrade my RAM at 16 gb or 8 gb?

My configuration stats : core i5 processor with 2.67 ghz with 4 gb RAM, 500 gb harddrive.  Help me regarding this

Depends on which model of 5742 series you use, and also more importantly which OS is installed. If you have Win'7 Home Basic, max RAM is 2x4Gb. But if you have Win 7 Home Premium you should be able to upgrade to 16Gb RAM (i.e. 2x8Gb). However, would advise you to reconfirm with Acer Support before you buy.

You can consider any laptop RAM with speeds of 1066 / 1333 Mhz. Have used Transcend JetRAM and they work just fine with my Acer Aspire 5742G notebook.
