hello i recently purchased a acer desktop with windows 8.1 but would like to down grade to  7. I have followed every step on line to do so  but  for some reason cannot  get it to install 7. In my bios  i have  disabled secure boot but for some reason  it is  stuck on  windows boot manager  , i cannot get it  to  boot  from  dvd  or  usb.

you need to disable UEFI, selecting Legacy or launchCSM

disable secure boot is OK, to be able to boot other OS apart 8.x

if you don't have that option, please report your desktop model and check if any BIOS update is available to enable LaunchCSM

    I'm not an Acer employee.

To install windows 7 you will have to log in on windows 8, then insert the windows 7 disc and install it over top of windows 8. After windows 7 is installed you can open the c: Folder in computer and delete the windows old folder. Then you will have all your hard drive space back and windows 7 instead of windows 8
