    bbrannon,

Your system is not WiDi compatible, the wireless card itself does not meet the criteria listed on the Intel site.

As far as the part number of the system, it's the first 10 chracters of the serial number; just for future reference if you need to provide it.

    bbrannon,

You can check to make sure that you have the most updated firmware to make sure it will work, and if the functionality is there, here are the steps to set it up.

How do I dtermine if my machine has a wireless display adapter so that it can be WiDi enabled?

    bbrannon,

Intel has a criteria that your system must meet in order to use this feature. You would have to compare your hardware specifications with their list to check whether it will work.

Sorry to ask a nother question, but without documentation, is there another way to determine my hardware configuration?

    bbrannon,

You can give me the part number of your system and I can look for you, or you can try this and see if that gives you the answer: Need to know the hardware on your system to choose the right drivers?

I tried to find out system info under that SNID on the acer website but got hardly any information.

    bbrannon,

When you click this link, Need to know the hardware on your system to choose the right drivers?, it should tell you what pieces of hardware you have. When I click it it has a small executable file to run to detect the hardware.

I did use that little program, but all I got was:

    bbrannon,

Well, the other place to look is in the device manager since that wouldn't give you the specific part information. You can access the device manager a couple ways:

    • In tile mode, start typing device manager and click on the result.
    • Right click on the start button in desktop mode and click on  device manager.
    • Open control panel and access it that way.
